MISSION

Stand Up, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending human trafficking through educating the public on methods of prevention and providing care to those affected.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to disrupt the human trafficking industry by equipping parents with the tools they need to feel empowered against these horrendous acts.

OUR APPROACH

Our approach largely involves prevention, because we believe that we can decrease the supply in human trafficking by being vigilant as parents and caregivers. We believe that if we can equip a parent or caregiver with the tools and tips to prevent their child from becoming a victim of trafficking, exploitation, or sextortion, than this will be a worthwhile non-profit.

We do this through education in our speaker series, our Parent Resource Guide, and by providing care to those trapped in the sex trade.

Unfortunately, the reality is that human trafficking does still exist, and in the meantime, we are called to love on the survivors of this gruesome world. We continuously seek out the most effective ways that we can bring Christ’s love in hope and restoration to survivors of human trafficking.

OUR CORE BELIEFS

We believe that human trafficking and exploitation do not discriminate. We believe that standing up for every single person is a priority, regardless of age, gender, race, or political background. Every person is worth fighting for.

We believe that pornography is one of the greatest threats to our children in the digital world. We aim to help end the normalization of under-aged porn usage and addiction.

We believe the Lord has called each of us to Stand Up for children and those who cannot speak for themselves. We believe that as parents and caregivers, it is our duty to protect the hearts, minds, souls, and bodies of our children.

MEET OUR STAFF

In 2017, we felt a strong calling toward getting involved in the fight against human trafficking. We spent years praying about how the Lord would guide us and provide a way for us to get involved.. a specific way that would make a difference. In that time frame, countless time was spent researching, learning, and preparing our hearts for whatever the Lord would guide us to.

We can’t do everything, but we can all do something.

When the term “human trafficking” was first introduced to me, I was appalled. How could so many people be suffering of something so disturbing, yet so many people be so unaware? As a parent of two little girls, I decided that it was time to take action.

While the thought of joining a fight against an industry that is so gruesome seemed so arduous, the alternative of sitting back while it happens just wasn’t an option.

After many years of prayer, the Lord directed us to leave our beautiful home and family in Orange County, CA, and head to the incredible city of Nashville, TN. It seemed like every piece of our transition to Tennessee was smooth and easy.. and once we arrived, the Lord finally answered that long awaited prayer of “How can we help combat this?”, and Stand Up was born.

ADAM GEORGE

To quote Lionel Kendrick, “We cannot always control everything that happens to us in this life, but we can control how we respond.” I find these words to be a driving truth both in my day to day but also my desire to be a part of Stand Up.

Being a former resident of Southern California, I once viewed the topic of trafficking with ‘blinders’ on. I would say to myself, “that is terrible to hear, but it happens in other countries and not much here in the United States”, but boy was I wrong on the matter. It wasn’t until a parent meeting held at our local church that I realized the fight for our Youth’s safety and hearts were being taken aware from parents due to blind obedience.

Working with Stand Up has provided me both the understanding of how prevalent human trafficking is in America, even more so near prominent major cities, as well as a passion to stand firm in awareness and protection of the innocent around us. I align with Stand Up’ desire to bring awareness not only of the travesties and dangers around us regardless of age but also to be vigilant in our surroundings to prevent and protect one another from becoming another statistic.

Being a grandparent, and knowing how hard I tried to protect my kids, made me realize how much I didn’t know in todays challenging world. I was so unaware of all the ways predators can have access to your children. It made me want to spread the word to parents and grandparents on what they need to watch for.

I believe parents want to protect their children, they are just unaware of the ways that evil can so easily come into your lives. Stand Up wants to spread the word and protect your children. This is why I choose to be apart of this organization.
